Saint Joseph of Arimathea

Saint Joseph of Arimathea was a respected Jewish figure and member of the Sanhedrin who believed in Jesus. After Jesus' crucifixion, Joseph asked Pontius Pilate for Jesus' body, which he then laid in a new tomb he owned. He is often remembered for his act of bravery and kindness, helping to ensure Jesus received a proper burial. In Christian tradition, especially in the and the later legend, he is also associated with the Holy Grail and certain missionary activities.
