Saint Anselm's Theology
Saint Anselm’s theology centers on the idea that God is the greatest being we can conceive—so great that nothing greater can exist. He argues that existing in reality is greater than existing only in our imagination. Therefore, for such a perfect being to truly be the greatest, it must exist both in our minds and in reality. This reasoning aims to show that the existence of God is logically necessary, emphasizing that God's existence is rooted not just in faith but also in rational understanding of what “greatness” entails.
