Saint Anne (mother of the Virgin Mary)

Saint Anne is traditionally recognized as the mother of the Virgin Mary and, by extension, the grandmother of Jesus Christ. Although there are no explicit biblical references, she is an important figure in Christian tradition, especially within Catholicism and Orthodoxy. Believed to have been a devout and righteous woman, Anne is honored for her role in God's plan of salvation by providing Mary, who would become the mother of Jesus. She is often invoked as the patroness of mothers, women, and families, and her feast day is celebrated on July 26.
