Safe Third Country concept

The Safe Third Country concept is a principle in international immigration law where a country can refuse a refugee or asylum seeker’s case if they first arrived in or passed through a country considered safe before reaching the current country of claimed refuge. Essentially, it means if another "safe" country has already addressed their claim or provided protection, the current country can deny entry or asylum, trusting that the previous country offered sufficient safeguards and assistance. This helps prevent multiple claims and ensures efficient management of refugee decisions while acknowledging the safety of certain countries.
