Safe Road Trains for the Environment (SARTRE) is a European project that explores the use of connected and automated vehicle technology. It allows a group of vehicles, or "road train," to travel closely together on highways. The lead vehicle is driven manually or autonomously, while the following vehicles are automated, communicating with each other to coordinate movements. This reduces air resistance, fuel consumption, and emissions, making travel more efficient and environmentally friendly.
