Safe Haven (financial)

A safe haven in finance is an investment or asset that retains or increases its value during periods of market turbulence or economic uncertainty. Investors turn to safe havens to protect their capital when other investments, like stocks or currencies, become volatile or lose value. Examples include gold, U.S. Treasury bonds, and certain currencies such as the Swiss franc. These assets are considered low-risk and tend to be less affected by economic downturns, offering stability and security in unpredictable times.
