Sabellic languages

Sabellic languages are a group of ancient Italic languages once spoken in central Italy, mainly by tribes like the Sabines and Volsci. They belong to the broader Indo-European language family, like Latin and Greek. These languages were used before Latin became dominant and are known mainly through inscriptions and references. Although largely extinct, studying Sabellic languages helps historians understand the early cultures and linguistic development of Italy before the Roman Empire. They provide insight into regional differences in language and social organization during the ancient period.
