sabbaticals

A sabbatical is an extended break from work, often lasting several months to a year, allowing employees to rest, pursue personal interests, or develop new skills. Usually offered after a certain period of employment, it provides time for reflection, travel, education, or other activities that contribute to personal growth. Sabbaticals are intended to benefit both the employee and employer—reinvigorating motivation and creativity, with the understanding that the employee will return to their role afterward. They are common in academia and some progressive organizations.
