The Saarinen family is renowned for its contributions to architecture and design. Tafel Saarinen (1888–1950) was a Finnish architect and the father of Eero Saarinen. His son, Eero Saarinen (1910–1961), was a pioneering architect known for innovative modernist buildings like the Gateway Arch in St. Louis and the TWA Terminal at JFK Airport.
