"S.O.S"

"S.O.S" is a universally recognized distress signal used in emergencies to request help. Originating from Morse code, it consists of three short signals, three long signals, and three short signals (· · · — — — · · ·). Despite often being associated with the phrase "Save Our Souls" or "Save Our Ship," these are backronyms created later; originally, S.O.S was chosen because of its simple, distinctive pattern that’s easy to transmit and recognize. It signals that someone is in urgent danger and needs immediate assistance, especially in maritime or radio communication contexts.
