S. L. MacGregor Mathers

S. L. MacGregor Mathers was a key figure in the late 19th-century Western occult revival. He co-founded the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, a secret society dedicated to mystical and esoteric knowledge, which influenced many modern spiritual practices. Mathers was also a scholar of ancient languages and texts, translating and interpreting mystical writings. His work helped popularize Western occultism, ceremonial magic, and the study of alchemy and astrology.
