Ruth Hegarty

Ruth Hegarty is an Indigenous Australian elder, community leader, and advocate recognized for her efforts in supporting Indigenous rights and cultural preservation. Born in 1938, she has dedicated much of her life to improving access to education, health, and housing for Aboriginal communities. Hegarty is also known for her work in promoting cultural awareness and reconciliation. Her leadership has earned her numerous awards, and she serves as a respected voice in advocating for social justice and Indigenous issues in Australia.
