Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (RSFSR)

The Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (RSFSR) was the largest and most influential part of the former Soviet Union, established in 1917 after the Russian Revolution. It was a socialist state governed by communist principles under the USSR's umbrella, serving as the core of the Soviet Union. The RSFSR encompassed much of what is now Russia, with its own government and constitution. In 1991, it declared independence, leading to the dissolution of the USSR, and became the Russian Federation, the country we know today as Russia.
