Russian Monarchy
The Russian monarchy was a political system where a monarch, called an emperor or tsar, held supreme authority over Russia from the 16th century until 1917. The tsar wielded extensive power, ruling through a centralized government and commanding the military, while the society was structured with nobles and serfs. Over centuries, the monarchy evolved from autocratic rule to a more complex system, but the tsar remained the ultimate authority. The monarchy ended with the Russian Revolution in 1917, leading to the establishment of the Soviet Union.
