Russell Silver syndrome
Russell-Silver syndrome is a rare growth disorder characterized by a person being shorter than average from early childhood, often with proportionate body parts. Individuals may have a small face with a prominent forehead, low birth weight, and delayed development. The condition results from genetic changes affecting growth regulation, leading to decreased growth hormone activity. While it doesn't typically affect intelligence, health issues like feeding problems and asymmetry can occur. Management includes regular growth monitoring, nutrition support, and sometimes growth hormone therapy to help improve growth and development.
