Runeberg

Runeberg refers to Johan Ludvig Runeberg (1804–1877), a distinguished Finnish poet and national figure. His poetry, often in Swedish, celebrates Finnish history, nature, and identity, and he is best known for creating the Finnish national epic, "The Tales of Ensign Stål." Runeberg's work played a significant role in fostering Finnish cultural pride and language. His influence is honored annually on February 5th, known as Runeberg Day, when a pastry named after him, Runeberg torte, is enjoyed across Finland.
