Rule-based Access Control

Rule-based Access Control (RBAC) is a system that manages permissions based on a set of predefined rules. Instead of giving everyone the same access, it restricts or grants access to resources according to specific conditions, such as user roles, locations, or times. For example, only managers might have access to payroll information, while employees can view their own schedules. These rules ensure that users can only access the information they need to perform their tasks, helping to keep data secure and organized efficiently.
