Rugby positioning
Rugby positions are grouped into two main categories: forwards and backs. Forwards (numbers 1-8) compete in scrums and lineouts, focusing on gaining possession and physical contests, like tackling and driving. Backs (numbers 9-15) move the ball quickly to run, pass, and score, with positions like the scrum-half (9) linking play and wingers (11, 14) sprinting to finish scores. Each role has specialized responsibilities, with forwards emphasizing strength and control, while backs prioritize speed and agility. Together, they form a team that combines physicality, strategy, and skill to control gameplay and score points.
