Ruby Laser

A Ruby laser is a type of laser that uses a synthetic ruby crystal as its gain medium. When flashed with intense light, the ruby crystal's atoms become excited, and as they return to their normal state, they release photons that bounce back and forth within the crystal's mirror cavity. This process amplifies the light, producing a narrow, intense beam of red laser light. Ruby lasers were among the first practical lasers developed and are known for their distinct red color and pulsed operation, often used in scientific and medical applications.
