
Rube Foster
Rube Foster was a pioneering African American baseball player, manager, and executive in the early 20th century. Known as the "Father of Black Baseball," he helped establish the Negro National League in 1920, which provided a platform for Black professional baseball teams during segregation. Foster's leadership and vision promoted the growth of Black baseball, offering opportunities for Black players when Major League Baseball was segregated. His contributions significantly advanced racial integration in sports and helped sustain Black baseball for decades. Foster's efforts earned him recognition as a key figure in American sports history and the Hall of Fame.
