RTP Control Protocol (RTCP)

RTCP (RTP Control Protocol) is a companion to the Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP), used in streaming media like video calls or live broadcasts. While RTP transmits audio and video data, RTCP monitors and manages the quality of this transmission. It provides feedback on network conditions, such as packet loss or delays, helping to ensure smooth playback. RTCP also helps to synchronize multiple streams and identify participants. Essentially, RTCP acts as a communication link between the receiver and sender, ensuring the media stream remains clear, synchronized, and of good quality during real-time communication.
