RTG cranes
RTG (Rubber Tyred Gantry) cranes are large, mobile cranes used at ports to load and unload containers from ships. They are equipped with wheels, allowing them to move along tracks alongside the dock, and a gantry structure spanning multiple lanes. These cranes have a tall, crane-like arm (boom) with a spreader at the end to lift containers securely. RTGs operate efficiently, stacking containers in high, organized rows, and can be quickly repositioned along the quay to manage different ships and cargo. They are essential for streamlining port operations and handling high volumes of containerized freight.
