RTE Act (Right to Education Act)

The Right to Education (RTE) Act, enacted in 2009 in India, mandates free, compulsory education for children aged 6 to 14 years. It ensures that all children have access to quality education in schools that meet specified standards, promotes equitable learning opportunities, and prohibits arbitrary screening or expulsion based on age or ability. The Act also emphasizes the responsibilities of the government to provide adequate infrastructure, trained teachers, and inclusive learning environments, aiming to make education accessible, fair, and effective for every child.
