RSC complex
The RSC (Remodel the Structure of Chromatin) complex is a group of proteins in cells that helps regulate gene activity by modifying how DNA is packaged. DNA is wrapped around proteins called histones to form structures called nucleosomes, which can block or allow access to genes. RSC uses energy from a molecule called ATP to reposition or remove these nucleosomes, making certain gene regions more accessible for processes like transcription. This chromatin remodeling is essential for proper gene expression, DNA repair, and other cellular functions, acting as a dynamic organizer of the genome.
