Royal Absolutism is a political system in which a monarch holds absolute power over the government and is not bound by laws or constitution. In this system, the king or queen makes decisions without requiring approval from other branches of government, such as parliaments or courts. This form of rule often claims divine right, suggesting the monarch's authority comes directly from a higher power. Prominent in 17th and 18th century Europe, it aimed to centralize control and diminish the influence of nobility and other institutions, leading to both efficient governance and potential abuses of power.
