Roxelana

Roxelana, also known as Hürrem Sultan, was a notable figure in the Ottoman Empire during the 16th century. Originally from Ukraine, she was taken into the Ottoman court and became the wife of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent. As his concubine and later legal wife, she wielded significant influence in political and court affairs, which was uncommon for women of her time.
