Routing Information Protocol

Routing Information Protocol (RIP) is a method used by computer networks to determine the best path for data to travel between devices. It works by having routers share information about their known routes and distances to various network segments. Each router updates its routing table based on this shared information, aiming to find the shortest and most efficient path. RIP uses a counting system (hop count) to measure distance, with a maximum of 15 hops, making it suitable for smaller networks. It helps ensure data reaches its destination effectively by constantly updating route information.
