Rotameter

A rotameter is a device used to measure the flow rate of liquids or gases in a pipeline. It consists of a tapered tube with a float inside that moves up and down based on the flow's speed. As the flow increases, the float rises to a higher position; as it decreases, the float drops. The float's position correlates with a scale marked on the tube, allowing for easy reading of flow rate. Rotameters are simple, reliable, and commonly used in industrial, laboratory, and medical settings for accurate flow measurement.
