Rosebud Reservation

The Rosebud Reservation is a large land area in South Dakota designated for the Sicangu Oyate, also known as the Rosebud Sioux Tribe, a branch of the Lakota Nation. Covering around 840 square miles, it functions as both a sovereign Native American territory and a reservation where members live and maintain their cultural traditions. The reservation includes towns, farmland, and natural landscapes, and it operates under tribal government authority. It reflects a community working to preserve its heritage while navigating contemporary challenges in economic development, education, and health.
