Rorquals

Rorquals are a group of large baleen whales that include species like blue, fin, humpback, and minke whales. They are known for their massive size, with pleated throats that expand when they feed, allowing them to take in enormous amounts of water and krill or small fish. These whales are highly adapted for filter-feeding, using baleen plates to strain their food from the water. They migrate long distances each year between feeding grounds in colder waters and breeding grounds in warmer areas. Rorquals are important for marine ecosystems and are often the focus of conservation efforts due to threats like hunting and pollution.
