Root Server

A root server is a critical part of the internet’s infrastructure that helps direct users to the correct website addresses. Think of it as a highly authoritative directory, guiding your web browser to find the exact location where a website’s information is stored. When you type a website address, your computer asks a root server for guidance. The root server then directs the request to a more specific server until the website is found. There are only 13 main root servers worldwide, but they work together efficiently to keep the internet running smoothly.
