root canal therapy
Root canal therapy is a dental procedure used to save a tooth that is badly infected or decayed. When the pulp (the soft tissue inside the tooth containing nerves and blood vessels) becomes inflamed or infected, it can cause pain and risk the loss of the tooth. During the procedure, the dentist removes the infected pulp, cleans and disinfects the inside of the root canals, then fills and seals them to prevent future infection. The tooth is then restored with a filling or crown. This treatment preserves the natural tooth and alleviates pain, allowing normal function to be maintained.
