Rooster
A rooster is a male chicken known for its distinctive crowing, which often signals dawn. Roosters are vital in poultry groups for their role in protecting hens and establishing dominance. They have bright, colorful plumage and prominent combs and wattles on their heads. Beyond their role in breeding, they can also serve as alert animals, warning the flock of predators through their loud calls. Roosters typically mature around 5-8 months and are common on farms and in backyard poultry setups. Their presence is culturally symbolic and they play a key role in natural chicken social structures.
