Ron Woodroof
Ron Woodroof was an American electrician and rodeo cowboy who became known for his Fight Against AIDS-related issues. In the mid-1980s, after being diagnosed with AIDS and given a short prognosis, he challenged medical and government restrictions by seeking experimental and alternative treatments not approved in the U.S. He traveled to Mexico to obtain unapproved drugs, such as biomedical therapies and supplements, to improve his health. His actions highlighted the desperation and gaps in healthcare for AIDS patients at the time, and his story was later adapted into the film *Dallas Buyers Club*.
