Roma genocide (Holocaust)

The Roma genocide, part of the Holocaust, was the systematic persecution and murder of Roma people by Nazi Germany during World War II. The Nazis viewed Roma as inferior and targeted them for extermination. Between 1940 and 1945, thousands of Roma were imprisoned in concentration camps, subjected to forced labor, sterilizations, and mass killings, with estimates of around 220,000 to 500,000 deaths. This genocide aimed to eradicate Roma culture and community, reflecting the Nazi's racist ideology.
