Roma Decade
The Roma Decade (2005-2015) was a European initiative aimed at improving the social inclusion, education, employment, health, and housing conditions of Romani people across Europe. Recognizing longstanding challenges faced by Roma communities, the Decade sought to promote equal rights and reduce discrimination through coordinated policies at national and EU levels. It emphasized increasing access to quality education, combating poverty and segregation, and fostering social integration. While it set important goals, progress varied across countries, highlighting the need for ongoing, targeted efforts to ensure Roma communities can fully participate in social and economic life.
