Role strain

Role strain occurs when a person faces conflicting demands or expectations within a single role they occupy. For example, a working parent may struggle to meet the needs of their job while also caring for their children, leading to stress. It happens because the responsibilities associated with one role become difficult to fulfill simultaneously, creating feelings of pressure or frustration. Essentially, role strain is the tension arising from trying to satisfy multiple expectations within the same role, making it challenging to perform effectively and feel personally balanced.
