Rodney King Riots
The Rodney King Riots, also known as the Los Angeles Riots of 1992, were violent protests that erupted after four police officers were acquitted of using excessive force against Rodney King, a Black motorist. The incident highlighted issues of racial injustice and police brutality. As frustration and anger grew among residents, particularly in South Central Los Angeles, widespread riots, looting, and arson occurred over several days, resulting in significant destruction and loss of life. The riots underscored deep racial inequalities and prompted increased calls for police reform and social justice.
