Rocks
Rocks are naturally occurring solid collections of minerals or mineral-like materials. They form Earth's crust through processes like cooling from molten magma, compression of mineral particles, or chemical precipitation. Rocks are classified into three main types: igneous (formed from cooled magma or lava), sedimentary (created from accumulated layers of mineral particles and organic material), and metamorphic (pre-existing rocks transformed by heat, pressure, or chemically active fluids). They are fundamental to Earth's geology, forming the land we live on, influencing landscapes, and providing essential minerals for human use.
