Roberto Peccei
Roberto Peccei was a physicist best known for his work in particle physics, particularly the Peccei-Quinn theory. This theory addresses the "strong CP problem," which questions why certain particles in atomic nuclei behave in a way that suggests a symmetry, despite expectations they wouldn't. Peccei proposed a solution involving a new symmetry that predicts the existence of a hypothetical particle called the axion. This idea has important implications for understanding the fundamental forces of nature and could also explain dark matter, the mysterious substance making up most of the universe's mass.
