Robert Stuart

Robert Stuart was an American fur trader and explorer in the early 19th century. He played a significant role in the expansion of the fur trade west of the Rocky Mountains and was one of the founding members of the American Fur Company. Stuart is also known for his involvement in exploring and mapping regions of the western United States, including parts of the Oregon Trail. His work helped establish American presence in the West during a period of expansion and exploration, contributing to the eventual settlement and development of the western frontier.
