Robert Pickton
Robert Pickton is a Canadian former pig farmer who gained notoriety for his involvement in the criminal case of multiple murders. Between 1983 and 2002, he was convicted of killing six women, though it is believed he may have assaulted and murdered many more. Pickton targeted women, often vulnerable or homeless, in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. His case shocked Canada due to the scale of his crimes and raised awareness about violence against marginalized groups. He was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2007, and his case remains one of Canada's most infamous criminal investigations.
