Robert Morris (historical figure)
Robert Morris (1734–1809) was a prominent American financier and statesman during the American Revolution. He played a crucial role in financing the colonies' fight for independence by raising funds and managing supplies. Morris also signed important documents like the Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, and the U.S. Constitution. As the superintendent of finance, he helped create the young nation's financial systems, but his later financial troubles led to bankruptcy. His contributions helped sustain the Revolutionary War effort and established foundational economic policies for the United States.
