Ritter (knight)
A knight was a medieval warrior from the noble class, typically serving a lord or king. They were often mounted on horseback and trained in combat, wearing armor for protection. Knights followed a code called chivalry, emphasizing virtues like bravery, loyalty, and protection of the weak. In exchange for their military service, knights received land or wealth. They played a key role in medieval warfare and society, often participating in tournaments and serving as protectors of their community. Over time, knighthood also became a symbol of social status and moral virtue.
