Rite of Confirmation

The Rite of Confirmation is a Christian sacrament in which a person publicly affirms their faith and receives the Holy Spirit’s gifts, such as wisdom, courage, and understanding. Typically performed by a bishop or a designated church leader, it involves a prayer of blessing, the laying on of hands, and anointing with chrism (special holy oil). This rite signifies the individual's deepening relationship with God, their commitment to living out Christian values, and their full incorporation into the church community. It usually follows baptism and prepares the individual to actively participate in the Christian life.
