RIP (Routing Information Protocol)
RIP (Routing Information Protocol) is a method used by computers and routers to share information about network paths. It helps these devices determine the best way to send data to other devices by regularly exchanging updates on available routes. RIP uses a simple system called "hops" to measure distance, limiting routes to a maximum of 15 hops. If a route exceeds this limit, it's considered unreachable. RIP is easy to implement but less efficient for large or complex networks, as it updates information every 30 seconds, which can sometimes lead to slower adjustments when network changes occur.
