Rio Summit
The Rio Summit, officially known as the Earth Summit or United Nations Conference on Environment and Development, took place in Rio de Janeiro in 1992. It was a global meeting where countries discussed urgent environmental issues like pollution, deforestation, and climate change, aiming to find sustainable ways to grow economies without harming the planet. The summit resulted in important agreements, such as the Rio Declaration and Agenda 21, encouraging nations to take responsibility for protecting natural resources, conserving biodiversity, and promoting social and economic development in harmony with the environment.
