Right Ventricular Hypertrophy

Right Ventricular Hypertrophy (RVH) is a condition where the muscular wall of the heart's right ventricle becomes thickened. This usually happens when the heart has to work harder to pump blood to the lungs, often due to lung diseases, high blood pressure in the lungs, or other heart problems. The thickened wall can make the right ventricle less efficient and may lead to symptoms like fatigue, shortness of breath, or swelling. Detecting RVH involves imaging tests like an echocardiogram or MRI, and treatment focuses on addressing the underlying cause to prevent further heart strain.
