Richard Lower
Richard Lower was an influential 17th-century English scientist and physician known for pioneering work in blood circulation. He conducted some of the earliest experiments demonstrating that blood circulates continuously through the body, challenging previous beliefs. Lower improved the understanding of the circulatory system through experiments, including blood transfusions between animals. His research laid important groundwork for later discoveries by William Harvey and helped advance medical knowledge about the function of blood, contributing significantly to physiology and medicine.
