Richard III of England

Richard III was the King of England from 1483 until his death in 1485. He was the last king from the House of York and the last of the Plantagenets. Richard is often remembered for his controversial reputation, partly due to William Shakespeare’s portrayal of him as a villainous ruler. His reign was marked by political intrigue and warfare, particularly the Wars of the Roses. Richard died in the Battle of Bosworth Field, ending the Wars and marking the rise of the Tudor dynasty under Henry VII. His remains were discovered in Leicester in 2012, sparking renewed interest in his life.
